Long-time Coalition volunteer honored by OneJax

Ms. Wolfson at Children's Week 2012

Karen Wolfson, a community volunteer, long-time Coalition member and former Board of Directors chair, is a OneJax 2012 Silver Medallion Honoree.

Ms. Wolfson will be honored, along with three other humanitarians, at OneJax’s 2012 Humanitarian Awars Dinner for: “demonstrating the highest level of personal and professional integrity, having given generously and extensively to our community, and having been dedicated to the improvement of human relations among diverse groups in our community.”

Ms. Wolfson is a former English teacher who volunteers with numerous organizations: Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry, where she initiated the Back-to-School with BEAM and children’s summer dental program; the Wolfson Children’s Hospital Board of Directors; Wolfson Hospital Development Council; The Women’s Board; National Association of Children’s Hospitals (NACHRI); Ronald McDonald House Advisory Board; among others.

OneJax is an institute at the University of North Florida and an interfaith organization that promotes respect and understanding among people of different religions, races, cultures and beliefs.
