2019 Carol Brady Community Leadership Award Recipient: Carolyn Arnister

Congratulations go to Carolyn Arnister, recipient of the 2019 Carol Brady Community Leadership Award! The award, given each year, recognizes the outstanding efforts and commitment of a community leader who has devoted their time, resources, funds and expertise to advancing maternal and child health in Northeast Florida.

Since 2005, Carolyn served as the program manager for Healthy Start at the Florida Department of Health in Duval County (FDOH Duval) until she recently stepped down in December 2018. During her career, FDOH Duval has been a hub for initial contacts being processed through Coordinated Intake & Referral (CI&R). The CI&R Project‘s purpose is to connect families to the best home-visiting program that fits their needs. Carolyn volunteered the regional processing center at FDOH Duval for the Coordinated Intake & Referral Project learning collaborative. She has always been a valued voice at Coalition meetings by providing a great deal of experience and knowledge.  Her devotion for saving babies and helping families in the Northeast Florida community are exhibited by her time, commitment and passion.

The Brady award recognizes the outstanding efforts and commitment of a community leader who has devoted their time, resources, funds and expertise to advancing Maternal and Child Health in Northeast Florida. The award is given in honor of Carol Brady, former Executive Director of the Northeast Florida Healthy Start Coalition. During her time as Executive Director, Carol helped grow the Coalition from a small Healthy Start-focused agency within the North Florida Regional Council to a thriving non-profit that leverages resources to reach not only pregnant women and babies, but women in their preconception years, fathers and teens.
